Default Personal Life Coach Letter #1 from Dr. Shad Helmstetter

Personal Life Coach Letter #1
from Dr. Shad Helmstetter,
The Life Coach Institute

To all LCI Graduates, Current Enrollees, and Standby Students,

I’m writing this first in a series of update and support newsletters to our graduate coaches, current enrollees, and standby students who are awaiting training.

I want to personally thank you for your interest in helping others through life coaching. We are living at a time when people need all the help they can get. Life coaching has definitely become part of the solution.

Here are six important “Facts of Life Coaching” that can help you excel as a life coach:

1. You have chosen a very important career.

As a life coach today, you are at the very top of the field of personal growth. No one today is more sought after than a life coach. Even counselors, therapists, consultants, and advisors are changing or modifying their careers to life coaching. The reason life coaching is so popular is that it really works. You can be very proud of the choice you made to become a life coach.

2. People are looking for your help.

If everyone who could use your help, wore a T-shirt that said “I Need a Life Coach” printed on the front, you would be astounded at how many people would be wearing the shirt. So it’s up to you to wear a sign that says, “I Am a Life Coach. I Can Help.” You may not actually wear a shirt like that (although it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea.) But that’s the message you need to shout. People are looking for your help. They need you. You just have to help them find you.

3. The role you play will change people’s lives.

As a life coach you are aware of the changes you’re effecting in your clients’ lives. But the good you do goes far beyond that. When you touch people’s lives in a positive way, it is like you are dropping a nugget of gold into the middle of a glassy pond. The soft ripples go on forever. As a life coach you are helping people’s lives who you will never even meet. Husbands, wives, their children, friends, and everyone they touch in an ever broadening circle of life. And you’re creating that just by being a life coach and caring about others.

4. Set good goals for your life coaching career.

The best, most successful life coaches I know set real, written, targeted goals for their life coaching business. Changing lives isn’t an accidental thing. Neither is creating and building a life-coaching business for your future. If you haven’t written out your own simple goal and action steps for your life coaching business, write it out. You will be amazed at what happens next.

5. Have fun life coaching.

Don’t let the television news convince you that the world is suddenly a dark and dreary place. It isn’t! There is more opportunity, more promise, and more enlightenment taking place in the world right now than ever before. The news just wants you to think everything is bad, because that’s what sells news. Don’t listen to them. Have fun coaching. Keep your mind on the bright that is all around you, every day.

6. Life coaches are real people too.

Since we, as coaches, are vitally in touch with life and its ups and downs, we of all people should make sure we’re getting the right coaching support ourselves. If you’re not yet being coached, go online to the Forum community link on the institute’s home page (lifecoachinstitute.com) and find a friend and trade coaching. The best coaches have coaches themselves.

I will talk to you again soon!

Meanwhile, keep being incredible!

Shad

Thank you so much for this encouraging letter, Dr. Helmstetter. It came at just the right time as I've been a bit discouraged lately at not having any clients at the moment or the time to work on the marketing aspects of my business (dealing with family issues). I'm ready to get back into it!

Thank you. At first I didn't know what you were talking about but now I see these devotions under "meet othet LCI coaches--open forum conversations..." I read a few and will check out more. Also I find the self-talk CD's are keeping me going and looking up and forward. I just seem to have many distractions right now so my goal is to de-clutter both mentally and physically. Glad to say I'm making progress.
